Eating well can bring benefits to running performance, recovery and injury prevention, but it can be difficult to know what is best to offer young runners. This talk will describe the nutritional needs of young people in relation to exercise and demonstrate practical food choices that may be offered before, during and after exercise.
Speaker: Jo Mainwaring is a state registered dietitian. She qualified as a sports dietitian in 2004 and worked at Coventry University where she led the MSc / PgCert in sports & exercise nutrition. Jo is also a pediatric dietitian and has represented her local running club in 10K and marathon distance.
