On Sunday 27th May the under 17s and under 20s travelled to Banbury to compete in the second fixture of the UKYDL. After a successful last fixture, everyone was hoping to improve their performances and keep our position in the league. The weather was so nice with highs of 23 degrees; really we were lucky as it was predicted to rain all day!
There were many impressive performances from the middle distance athletes not only in endurance events but the sprints as well. Every relay team gave it their all and came out with good results. Overall everyone performed to the best of their ability. As many athletes drop out at this age group it leaves others to get put in for events they have never done before. For example Holly Cherry and Lucas Bennett both competed in field events they had not trained for, and even though they did not win, they won valuable points to go towards our overall total, which lead us to finish in 2nd place behind Charnwood.
Everyone raced incredibly well and had a good day! Well done!
