What a great day yesterday. We were unlucky to miss out on the win but that can happen at our home track on the 20th May.
There were some excellent performances with Jake and Tobi gaining grade 1. There were also lots of pbs and excellent performances. The race of the day must of gone to Freya in both her 1500 and relay. But equally some athletes were competing for the first time and most importantly everyone was part of the team and filled in the events that were not even their normal events. This got us valuable points.
The next competition is at Worcester on 7th May in the heart of England league. Could under 13's let Elaine firstname.lastname@example.org know their availability and under 15's need to let Sally email@example.com know.
On another note if any parents are keen photographers and fancy taking photos at the competitions let me know as we are keen to get photos on the website and we are also keen to get a report in the paper after each competition.
On Saturday the U13's and U15's went to Telford to compete in the first YDL of the season.
The Godiva team finished second behind Notts AC, who won by only a few points.
It was a great day for competing; it was sunny but not too hot. There were some great performances both on the track and field, with athletes used to running middle distance, stepping in to do field events.
The endurance group had a strong turn out and ran a successful set of races considering a number of the younger athletes hadn't raced before.
