Most endurance runners will not reach their full athletic potential until they reach the age of 25+. Therefore, as our sport is one where an athlete’s best performances are not achieved until they reach adulthood, we endeavour at CGH to encourage training and competition models which encourage retention and progression in the sport. In following this proven long term training model for success, the young athlete may participate in a wide variety of sports (we would encourage this approach).
We fully understand if young athletes cannot attend every club session or compete in every race. Once an athlete joins, CGH we just ask to be kept up to date with other sporting (and school) commitments so we can balance training and competition requirements.
